Welcome!

Pardon our spores, Fungi of Iowa is still under construction. Please check back regularly to see the new developments.

Fungi of Iowa is part of an on-going project of the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology at Iowa State University. This site is designed to provide a handy resource for the identification and evaluation of fungi in Iowa.

Project features:

Currently, we have and are building species information pages which include images and descriptions of many species of Iowa fungi.

There is also an interactive database of 30,000+ herbarium specimens which can be searched.

Stay tuned for upcoming features including an interactive identification key!
