Fruiting Body: cap 3-4 cm; stalk central, 4-5 cm long x 5-10 mm diameter; pores 1-2/mm, round to angular. Spore Print Color: olive brown. Spores: basidiospores 11-14 (15) x 4.5-6 (7) µm, smooth.

Diagnostic macroscopic feature: yellow basal mycelium of stalk, bluing of context and pores when bruised

Diagnostic microscopic feature: pileus trichodermium of long, tapered cells 5-12 µm diameter, which become bright yellow in KOH, the color diffusing into the mounting medium; broad spores
