Fruiting Body: cap 1-3 cm; stalk central, 2-6 cm long x 1-2.5 mm diameter, equal. Spore Print Color: pink-brown. Spores: basidiospores 6-7 x 4.5-5.8 micro;m, ellipsoid, smooth, pale yellow in KOH, inamyloid.

Diagnostic macroscopic feature: small mushroom with bright yellow cap and stalk, free gills that become pink-brown with mature spores, growing on down wood in summer help to distinguish this mushroom
